The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority on Monday confirmed the appointment of Ari Glazer, pictured, of Citigroup, a banking organization, as the gaming organization's chief financial officer. Mohegan, which trades under Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, said Glazer's appointment is effective May 1, 2024.
Mr. Glazer has been with Citigroup for 20 years, most recently as executive director and global head of gaming and services.
Given his "deep experience" across the U.S. and international financial markets, he is expected to "support Mohegan as a leading global diversification game operator," the release added.
Mr. Glazer will be responsible for all of Mohegan's "financial activities including financial planning and analysis, capital markets, accounting, tax, finance, procurement and cash management."
In addition to its businesses in the U.S. and Canada, Mohegan also operates a resort with foreigner-only casinos in Incheon, South Korea.
The financial problems will be overseen by Mohegan's president and chief executive, Ray Pinault, for an interim period as the company's current CFO, Carol Anderson, steps down on March 31, according to the announcement. Once Mr. Glazer takes over, he will report to Mr. Pinault.
Bloomberg previously reported hiring Glazer as Mohegan's new CFO.
"Ari embodies the visionary leadership and deep financial insight that Mohegan is looking for at this stage of our growth," the data released Monday quoted Mohegan's CEO as saying
"His skills will be at the heart of our strategy to diversify Mohegan's portfolio and strengthen our financial base," Mr Pino added.
In a prepared speech, Mr Glazer said he was "honored" to contribute to Mohegan's "dynamic and innovative trajectory."
"I look forward to leveraging my experience to boost financial performance, optimize capital structure and support Mohegan's ambitious vision," he added
